The VII International Transport and Logistics Business Forum «New Silk Way» — one of the key events of Kazakhstan’s Transport Week — was solemnly opened in Almaty
The forum began with a welcoming address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, broadcast live from the Akorda presidential palace. The Head of State emphasized the special role of Kazakhstan as a bridge between East and West and noted the importance of international cooperation for the further development of global logistics links.
During a teleconference, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC «NC «Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,» reported to the Head of State on the implementation of a large-scale project to build a second track on the Dostyk – Moyinty section, as one of the most critical infrastructure directions enhancing the capacity of the Trans-Caspian route and strengthening Kazakhstan’s transit role in Eurasia.
Within the framework of the forum, Talgat Aldybergenov also held a series of strategic meetings with representatives of international transport, investment, and logistics organizations.
The forum brought together over 500 participants from 30 countries — representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and the private sector. The agenda included the development of transport corridors, digitalization, the transformation of logistics, and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects within the «Belt and Road» initiative.
The «New Silk Way» platform clearly demonstrates Kazakhstan’s strategic course towards strengthening its position in global logistics and shaping the new Eurasian routes of the future.
