KTZ and SPSI Cloud Port Development strengthen cooperation in the field of agrologistics.
A working meeting took place in Astana between Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” and Huang Xiang, Chairman of the Board of SPSI Cloud Port Development Co., Ltd. (PRC).
During the discussions, the parties addressed the implementation of an investment project to construct a modern agrologistics hub in the city of Kokshetau, carried out within the framework of a strategic partnership between JSC “Kedentransservice” and the Chinese state-owned holding SPSI Cloud Port Development.
The project in Kokshetau involves creating a modern logistics complex on a 40-hectare site, with a projected capacity of over 1 million tons of cargo per year. The initiative includes the development of container, railway, and warehousing infrastructure, enabling efficient logistics support for the agro-industrial sector of Northern Kazakhstan.
The new terminal will provide storage for agricultural products, consolidation of cargo, and formation of container trains for export markets. The project is expected to create over 500 jobs during the construction phase and around 100 permanent positions upon commissioning, while also strengthening the position of the Akmola region as one of the country’s key agro-export regions.
Special attention during the meeting was given to developing logistics cooperation with Sichuan Province (PRC) and the city of Chengdu, one of the largest economic centers in western China. The possibility of establishing a logistics hub was discussed, which would expand export and logistics opportunities between Kazakhstan and western regions of China.
The parties emphasized that the implementation of joint projects will contribute to the development of sustainable supply chains and further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
