For the first time in Kazakhstan, the technology of transporting containers in open wagons has been implemented

On May 23, 2025, at the terminal of JSC “Kedentransservice” in the city of Astana, the first transshipment of a transit container train using open wagons took place, following the route Russia – Kazakhstan – China.
The new service was launched in cooperation with Russia’s largest logistics company, “Logoper.”
The implemented technology provides for the reverse loading of containers into open wagons that previously arrived carrying Kazakh coal. This approach significantly optimizes logistics processes and improves the efficiency of using railway infrastructure and rolling stock.
