Maersk and JSC “Kedentransservice” Launch Strategic Cooperation in Cargo Terminal Services

21.05.2025

On May 21, 2025, the first batch of containers from the international logistics company Maersk arrived at the terminal of the Astana branch of JSC “Kedentransservice,” officially marking the beginning of a new stage of partnership. The parties signed a cooperation agreement regarding cargo terminal services in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The signed agreement is part of Maersk’s long-term strategy to develop multimodal routes in Central Asia. With its advantageous geographic location, Kazakhstan is becoming a key land hub for the transit and distribution of cargo between Europe and China.

As part of the partnership, JSC “Kedentransservice” will provide Maersk with services including container handling, storage, as well as «first and last mile» transportation across the entire internal network of branches.

The regular shipments planned within this cooperation will establish a steady flow of goods and contribute to the expansion of Kazakhstan’s multimodal transport system. In turn, this will strengthen the country’s position as a reliable transit bridge between the West and the East.
